Who knew that a Tuesday could be such a big day? Today’s the launch day for Prisoner of the Black Hawk, book #2 in The Mapmaker Chronicles (you can buy it here). I’ve had several coffees to celebrate, which means I’m not only talking like a chipmunk, but typing like a demon!
Today is also the last day to enter the competition to win a signed copy of Prisoner of the Black Hawk, plus lovely leather notebook and cool bookmark. Details are here. I’ve had some amazing entries and you have until midnight AEST to get yours in!
In other exciting news, the Sydney Writers’ Festival program was announced recently, and I’m thrilled to say that I’m on it. Three times.
On May 20, I will be teaching a workshop on a subject that’s very dear to my heart (and to most of yours if the number of emails I get about this are anything to go by): Writing …. with children: how to have a family and a novel. I’ll be looking at some myths about writing, how to make the time to write, what to do with the time when you manage to carve out an hour or two, and tools that can help you to get to The End. I’d love to see you there!
On May 21, I’m taking part in a panel that’s all about social media for writers, part of the NSW Writers’ Centre’s Forest For The Trees: Writers and Publishing in 2015 day. I’m really looking forward to the debate about the pros and cons of various social media platforms for writers.
And then, on 24 May, I’ll be down at Pier 2/3, Walsh Bay, reading in the Enid Blyton Storytime Clubhouse as part of Family Day. It promises to be a fabulous day, with appearances by Andy Griffiths, Belinda Murrell and more and I really hope you’ll bring the kids along to say hello!
I told you it was a big news day!
Oh, Al! How exciting! Will try my best to make it to the May 20 session! congrats on all these wonderful achievements! So well deserved x
Thank you so much Grace!
I can’t wait until my daughter is old enough to read this series, I might have to buy it a few years earlier and read it myself! Congrats, and on the Sydney Writers’ Festival 3 times!
Thanks Emily!
I’m exhausted just reading all that! Amazing day for you indeed. I so wish I could make it to the Sydney Writers’ Festival. So many great speakers, including you of course. 😉
I can’t WAIT to be part of it!
Mapmakers 2 downloaded to my kindle today and have to say I would have liked to stay home a bit longer to finish it instead of school. Now that I am home I am looking forward to it and a bike ride.
Hope you enjoy!
You are a star, loved watching your interview x
Aw, thanks Rae!
Hi Allison. Hope you are managing to enjoy launch day, despite all the other things you have going on. Work begets work, right?
Hope you have time to stop and smell the roses today. Congratulations!
Thank you so much Gael!
