I get a lot of requests to ‘have coffee’ so people can ‘pick my brains’. Unfortunately, due to my busy schedule and rural location, I’m not able to take up such invitations. So I started thinking about a different way to offer up my 20+ years’ of writing experience in the same one-on-one fashion.
Each month, I set aside four hours for Skype coaching sessions.
The basics are simple – we talk for an hour and I answer any and all of your questions that I can about writing fiction, freelance writing, blogging, publishing, building your author platform…and more.
Each one-hour session costs $250 (inc GST).*
What can we cover? Anything you can dream up and cram into that hour.
If you want to:
- brainstorm ideas,
- talk about angles,
- ask about agents,
- get some motivation,
- learn how to make time to write,
- start building your author platform,
- discuss the realities of author life,
- learn the tips and tricks of managing writing around work/life balance,
- try out your pitch,
- discuss any other writing-related topic you can think of**…
Then these sessions are for you.
To make the most of your session, plan ahead. Sending me an agenda ahead of time is a great idea. That way, I can focus my thoughts on exactly what you want to talk about and pull together any additional information or links you might need.
After the sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to send me one follow-up email if you’d like anything clarified or expanded.
So… if you’ve got questions for me, would like my advice, need some inspiration/motivation (aka a ‘good kick up the butt’ according to author Gabrielle Tozer) or just want to know what I know, let’s talk.
This is what it’s like to work with me
“I’ve been working on writing projects with Allison Tait’s coaching for several years. Sometimes I need a lot, and sometimes a little, but what she provides is always exactly right. Her insight and expertise has been invaluable. With her help, I’ve secured agent representation and a two-book deal with a big-five publisher. Without her, I’d still be lingering at the starting line, wondering which pants to wear.” – Anna Spargo-Ryan
“The session was wonderful in that it showed up my weaknesses … as well as my strengths. I came away from the session with a strategy, answers to a lot of questions that were circling my mind and a renewed energy for my writing. Obviously, I’ve booked another session.” – Renee Mihulka
“Allison doesn’t just have a wealth of knowledge across all areas of professional writing, she also has a nurturing yet no-nonsense approach. This combination makes her an amazing resource when it comes to getting clarity around a particular project, interpreting ‘editor-speak’ and also, getting a great kick up the butt when you need one. I can say with surety that I would not be where I am in my writing journey today if not for her.” – Kelly Exeter
