One of the great things about the Pink Fibro Bookclub is the number of Australian authors who are members, and who actively participate in our discussions. This month, we read The Paper House by one such member, Anna Spargo-Ryan.
Given that I read the first draft of this book and then closely followed its progress through the publishing process, I am not going to ‘review’ it per se, suffice to say that I think Anna is one of the most beautiful and lyrical writers that I know. Even counting the ones I don’t know. I am very much looking forward to reading other members’ thoughts on this novel, either below in the comments, or over in our Facebook group.
Having said all that, I must now make a timely announcement. After three years, I am relinquishing my role as Head Prefect of the Pink Fibro Bookclub and handing it over to the fabulous Anna Spargo-Ryan, who has been my faithful Deputy Prefect during the life of the club. I will still be a member of the group and look forward to not having to decide what we’re all going to read every month. I know that Anna has big plans for the club!
If you’d like to stay in close clubbish contact with me, join my new Facebook group ‘Your Kids’ Next Read‘, which is fast becoming a vibrant community where we discuss all things children’s books. I look forward to seeing you over there!
